Facial Rejuvenation Surgery
As there are many kinds of physicians, there are many kinds of face lifts. To be effective, it must meet your personal wants and needs. Meeting this criteria doesn’t always call for the extensive surgery but rather, and in most cases, a modified tuck with very little downtime. You may have heard of the S-Lift or Quick Lift. These two are modifications of the more extensive procedure and are practiced at our Pavilion location.

Brow Lift
We have been performing brow lift surgery, or better stated, elevating the eyebrow, for 25 years. The methods have varied but despite the method employed, a brow lift produces a very dramatic enhancement.

We often encounter patients seeking eye surgery because of sagging skin on the upper lids. They are under the incorrect assumption that operating on the eyelids alone will improve that situation. What is really needed is a brow lift and this is something we often suggest to our patients.

We currently employ what is known as a peritrichal incision, which is an incision approximately three inches long on each side of the forehead just immediately in back of the frontal portion of the hairs. We angle the incision in such a way that the hairs will be given an opportunity to grow through the incision and thereby hiding it.

This procedure can be done by itself or in conjunction with face and neck lift surgeries or even with Blepharoplasty surgery.

The Scenario of a Facial Rejuvenation Procedure
This is what you might experience while undergoing any facial cosmetic procedure.

You would enter the office approximately one hour before the procedure where I will escort you to the operating room. The anesthesiologist would the start anesthesia intravenously and you will go off into a twilight and restful sleep. Almost all procedures are completed within two or three hours. During this time you will remain comfortable, pain-free and restful.

Afterwards, my staff would escort you to the recovery room where you will remain for approximately one to two hours and then be discharged, to be escorted home by one of your friends or family members.

If you have had a face or neck lift you may go home with an adhesive type bandage on the neck and cheek. This would be removed the next morning. It is important to note that you may notice blood on the bandage following a face or neck lift. This is normal drainage. However, if you were concerned we ask that you contact the office.

If you have had eye surgery there is no bandage at all.

If you have had nasal surgery there will be tape across the bridge of the nose and one small piece of tape across the nostrils.

The first post-operative day you would return to the office and I would remove all bandages. In the case of the nasal operation I would keep a few pieces of tape on the bridge of your nose. On your first post-operative day you should expect some degree of swelling. You would have soreness more than pain and certainly be able to ambulate. You would return to a normal diet and you may shower and shampoo at will.

The second post-operative day the swelling usually maximizes, then after that point the swelling rapidly subsides.

By the fourth post-operative day you would be able to drive yourself to and from our office. You would also be able to apply make-up and there will be no bandages whatsoever.

You would be able to return to work approximately on the tenth post-operative day. Of course this is not set in stone and is certainly dependant on the extent of surgery that is performed. Some patients return to work in one week and in some cases no longer than ten days.
