You've read that Dr. Cattani is a Diplomate of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery... but what does that mean? The American Board of Cosmetic Surgery is composed of physicians and surgeons throughout the world who devote their practice to the art and science of cosmetic surgery. It is the largest organization of its kind devoted to this specialty.

To become a Diplomate of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, you must first be in private practice for at least five years, you must have performed 1,000 or more surgical operations of all types, and then and only then are you eligible to take rigorous written and oral examinations. In meeting those criteria and passing the examinations, one is awarded Diplomate status.

In addition to being a Board Certified Cosmetic Surgeon, and in addition to being on its Board of Governors, Dr. Cattani was recently honored to be elected to the Vice Presidency of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. In that capacity, Dr. Cattani will serve and help direct the field of cosmetic surgery and its delivery to its patients in the next millennium. Beyond that, Dr. Cattani is Chairman for the past 9 years of the instructional course, which prepares doctors for the Board examination and has been one of the physicians who conduct the oral portion of the Diplomatic certifying exams.

Furthermore, we perform all of the surgery on our breast patients. In this practice there are no ghost surgeons and certainly there are no interns, residents or fellows who operate on you. This is a very, very important fact for you to note. Many people fear that their surgeon may not actually perform their surgery.

I am very proud of my medical staff who are all extraordinarily gifted in their knowledge and experience of cosmetic surgery.
